My baby smiled today; Oh My God! She said her first word; She moved her finger! Oh see, she is raising her head; What! She rolled over for the first time, and Ah! Her first step. How enthusiastically we take pleasure in the small wins of our kids. We take care of them daily to help them take a step forward each time. However, we don’t seem to be the same enthusiastic and appreciative of ourselves!
We live each day, cook our meals, maintain our homes, take care of our family, earn our daily bread, and much more. For this, we deserve a pat on our backs every now and then! We need to love ourselves for every step we take towards our goals, for every time we extend our hands to help others, for every delicious meal we prepare, or for every single document we compose. These are the little wins that make us who we are!
Self-care is the primary and the most crucial step of loving oneself! If I quote, “Self-care is the individual practice of health management without the aid of a medical professional.” As humans, physical, emotional, and mental health are interconnected and equally essential for us. Following small and simple self-care practices daily keep our body, mind, and soul healthy. These practices create ‘Oneness with Oneself.’ These are little effortless steps that should be self-initiated with the intention of achieving health and wellbeing. So, our takeaway for today is, ‘I matter to me, and I will take good care of myself daily.’
